TASK 1 - FISH AND MEAT CONSUMPTION

The graph shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 and 2004.

The line graph gives information about how much fish, lamb, beef, and chicken were consumed per person per week in a European nation from 1979 to 2004.

Over a 25-year period, there was an upward trend in the consumption of chicken. The consumption of beef and lamb, on the other hand, faced a decline. The amount of fish eaten per week remained relatively.

In 1979, about 225 grams of beef were consumed per person per week, which made beef become the most common food. By contrast, only around 60 grams fish were eaten, compared to 150 grams of chicken and about 140 grams of lamb.

During the period of 25 years, the consumption of beef and lamb per person per week decreased significantly to around 100 grams and 55 grams respectively. Despite being the least popular food in 1979, the amount of fish consumed was slightly stable at under 60 grams. There was a noticeable increase in the consumption of chicken. The figure rose from about 155 grams in 1984 to a peak of approximately 250 grams in 2004. (179 words)
