TASK 2: BEING LAZY TO WALK

Fewer and fewer people walk on daily life. What are the reasons and how to encourage them to spend their time walking?

It is true that in daily life, people seem to show less interest in walking. There are some explanations for this negative trend, and some measures could be taken to encourage people waking more regularly.

To begin with, the first reason why people now are walking less is due to the advantages of transportation. In other words, an individual certainly prefers either taking a bus or driving a car rather than walking in the heat of the sun or getting wet in the rainy season. Besides, travelling by motorbikes or cars is particularly faster than walking.

Furthermore, in some rural areas, a lack of proper sidewalks is also a major cause for being lazy to walk. Taking Hanoi for example, where the sidewalks are being used for business and activities like parking, a lot of pedestrians take a risk when they have to walk in the street instead the sidewalk. Additionally, laziness and tiredness could be other reasons that prevent people from taking more steps on a daily basis. I believe that there are very few workers who want to get home by foot after working long hours.

However, the citizens should be aware the healthy benefits of walking and encouraged to walk more. Taking a walk is a great exercise for losing weight and keeping fit; in addition, waking is not only free but also a good way for saving money on fuel. The government should introduce more strict regulations to keep the locals from using sidewalks as their private property and protect the right of pedestrians.

In conclusion, fewer people are walking less due to reasons which range from the convenience of transportation to the lack of good sidewalks. Nevertheless, human should take more steps every day because of their benefits. (293 words)
