TASK 1: MAP - THE IMPROVEMENT OF THE ISLAND

The two map below show an island, before and after the construction of some tourist facilities. ( Cambridge English IELTS 9)

The maps illustrate the improvement of the island by building some facilities and leisure services which have been used for the purpose of visitors.

It is clear that the island was initially deserted and uninhabited as the first map shows before many types of accommodation were built for travelers.

According to the second map, the reception center, which has the circular route for vehicles around it, is located about eighty meters from the beach. Nearby the reception area, there is the seaside restaurant. Heading south of the reception center is one pier; particularly, that pier provides sailing programs and other activities for the tourists to participate in. Moreover, as is shown by the second map, many accommodations like cottages have been built in the surroundings. All of them are connected with the footpaths. Additionally, swimming is now available in the beach area.

To sum up, tourism brought a huge change to the island without cutting down all the trees; amazingly, it still kept the natural resources safe. (167 words)
